So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the council and said, “What are we to do? For this man performs many signs. If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.” (John 11:47-48 ESV)
This passage in John shockingly shows the wretched depths of, not only the Pharisees hearts', but also my own heart. Despite the glorious miracle of restoring life to Lazarus, we look past that and see Jesus' glory as a threat to our own. Lord, please humble me so that You may be glorified through me.

This verse reminded me of God's great sovereignty and how righteous his will is. Very thought provoking and faith inspiring.
