I think it is so beautiful to see Boaz acting as 'redeemer' for Naomi and Ruth. It is such a wonderful picture of Christ and how he 'buys us back' into a right relationship with God through his death and resurrection. Also, as I think about the significance of the first potential redeemer, I think he may represent all of our 'functional saviors' (aka idols) that we may trust in for our hope in this life, when they in fact can't save us and actually lead us to our destruction.
