  1. Genesis 2:24 "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."

This verse summarizes what I've been learning recently regarding the importance and depth of a covenantal marriage. (*Disclaimer: marriage is not for everyone, but it is a very good thing, designed by God, for a good percentage of people.)

Becoming "one flesh" is more than just physical, although it is definitely that. It is also, what happens through the covenant through the rest of the couples lives; the man and women learn to live in sync with one another with one knowing about the other more deeply than the other knows himself, often times. As the husband, we men are to reflect Christ's love for the church loving with a self-sacrificing love even to the point of death if necessary. What an honor!

    Get stoked!

  2. Ruth 2:8 So Boaz said to Ruth, “My daughter, listen to me. Don’t go and glean in another field and don’t go away from here. Stay here with the women who work for me.

This is the response Boaz gives to Ruth. I take it to be a beautiful example of how Boaz shows Christ by the respect he gives to Ruth. Ruth is not asking for anything, she is taking what Boaz is throwing away basically. I wonder if i were to be put into a similar situation if i would react the same way as Boaz.
