In Jeremiah 8 the people of Judah are perpetually backsliding because they have listened to the "wise men" who have in reality altered God's word to make the people feel better about themselves. They have replaced the Truth of God with the lie of man for their own convenience. Many times I compare my actions and thoughts with the "wisdom" of the world in order to feel better about my sinful nature, but this only brings a false peace the same way the scribes words to the people of Judah brought a fake peace. In all of it thought Jesus still loves and welcomes us when we recognize True wisdom and repent from our false beliefs. Let's seek God's wisdom and ignore false beliefs in all areas of our lives.

This verse showed me that things finally started to click for tje apostles after Jesus ascended. Similarly, I am beginning to learn what it means to be a follower of Christ.
